As a potential customer, I drove in with my mind set on the car I've already decided on, the 2017 corvette stingray. I pull in to the parking spot right in front of the entrance where a line of Corvette's are parked on display in all their majesty. I'm thinking "Perfect". This should be a slam dunk, right ? After all, I have my financing in place and I even have insurance quotes so that I know the total cost of owning. I see a line of salesmen just standing to the side of the front entrance but I don't say anything, I just walk over to the cars and start looking. I'm the customer so I don't 'go after' anything. My thinking is if they want to sell me a car ... then work for it.

This young guy walks over with a smirk on his face and says "So, you looking at the Corvettes ?" yeah... duh. Anyway, I say yes, I'm interested and would like to test drive one. He then says, "We don't do test drives before we work the numbers out"...

Really ? I immediately say "I don't buy cars or even settle on a price without test driving them first" and then say "Thanks" and walk away. He's in shock. Remember, my car is right there so I go to it and play like I'm looking in my pocket for my keys to see what happens. Another sales guy walks over to him and they talk but don't say anything to me so I drive away. 1 hour later I'm test driving a convertible at another dealer.... I even walked out with a purchase option contract.

Hooman, you need to train your sales people... Or at least hire the ones with experience. I mean, You do want to actually sell cars, right? Or is profit not something you're concerned about ?
